October 2016 AGM
The SASRE 78th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday, 20th October 2016 at 5pm in the Meriting Boardroom, located just outside the Koedoespoort Workshops main gate. Please take note of the change in venue this month due to the larger audience expected.
Our presentation this month will be by Chris Faure of TE and his paper is titled “Is Lean Six Sigma still relevant in a challenging economy?”.
"Lean Six Sigma is a proven methodology that has been around for a number of decades. Critics have questioned the wisdom of relying too heavily on Lean Six Sigma, like so many other buzz phrases, in today’s global manufacturing industry. If you are a strong advocate for Lean Six Sigma-based continuous improvement processes, you should already be familiar with such backlash. Maybe, your company tried to implement Six Sigma and utterly failed, which might place you firmly in the sceptic category? This presentation will pose the questions: What is Lean Six Sigma and is Lean Six Sigma still relevant today?"
At our AGM on Thursday we shall be electing our new committee and we will welcome new candidates to serve on the committee. All members attending the AGM will be able to vote for the committee.
