ECSA Billing Discrepancies 2025/26
Announcement Date: 27 April 2026
The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) implemented a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system last year. The CRM yielded many benefits and process improvements but it also had some issues. In particular, many SASRE members in good standing did not receive the Voluntary Association (VA) discount on their ECSA annual fees despite SASRE submitting our membership lists at ECSA's request. Thank you for your patience as we worked with ECSA to raise and address these challenges.
ECSA has now acknowledged these issues, taken full responsibility for resolving them, and asked for our assistance in reconciling any remaining billing discrepancies. Please see attached ECSA's official statement on this matter.
If you have any outstanding ECSA account issues or queries, please complete this form by Monday, 4th May 2026.

The timeline for the reconciliation exercise is:
Monday, 4th May 2026: Form submission deadline to raise outstanding issues
Monday, 11th May 2026: Feedback to members by close of business
Week of 11th to 15th May 2026: Consultation webinar (date and details to follow)

Please note that ECSA has indicated that VA discounts for 2026/27 will be based on SASRE members' standing at the end of November 2025, in terms of invoices designated INV-2025-000.
Members who joined and/or paid their SASRE memberships from December 2025 to date may not receive the discount during the upcoming ECSA billing run. SASRE has appealed this decision and asked ECSA to include newer members and those who recently settled their accounts. We are waiting for ECSA's response to this request and will advise if the appeal is successful.
